Welcome to AfroLeadership · Yaoundé, Cameroon — info@afroleadership.org
Since 2010, AfroLeadership has been working to promote a balanced sharing of power between the state and its citizens, with a view to fostering inclusive sustainable development in Africa.
AfroLeadership is a pan-African non-governmental organisation that promotes sustainable development as the result of a balanced sharing of power between state actors and citizens. Representative democracy must be complemented by participatory democracy so that people can prevent the misuse of representation and actively harness citizens’ energy for the common good.
Formally registered in Cameroon in 2010, AfroLeadership works through research, civic technology and advocacy to bring about lasting change in African public governance.

“The relationship between governments and citizens is deteriorating in many African countries. Our role is to strengthen these bridges — through research, technology and advocacy.”
We envisage an African continent where public institutions are transparent, accountable and inclusive — and where citizens have the tools, data and spaces to play an active part in decisions that affect them.
Generate evidence to inform public policy and public discourse.
Develop digital tools that make governance more accessible, transparent, and participatory.
To defend the rights of African citizens and influence public policy at the national and international levels.
AfroLeadership’s initiatives are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
