Nur Mohamed Abdi is originally from Somalia and holds a master’s degree in agricultural sciences. Nur is the founder of the “Somali Youth of Agro-Marine Development Association” (SOMYAMDA), a community-based organization. He works to mobilize rural communities, particularly those in agricultural and coastal areas, and to train people in agricultural, fishing, and beekeeping techniques to combat hunger and famine. He has organized numerous training sessions in rural and coastal areas to educate and build the skills of rural youth. In addition, SOMYAMDA raises awareness among young men and women aged 18 to 35 about conservation agriculture (CSA) to enable them to establish sustainable projects for their future in the agricultural sector.
