Littoral: A trilogy on open and participatory budgeting in Douala


The first act of the Cameroon Open Participatory Budget (COPB) took place on June 21, 2021. The meeting room of the Douala 4 City Hall hosted, for one day, 36 participants and three youth elected delegates. About ten days later, the COPB caravan set up its connection point at the Youth Information Center of Douala 3. Target: 35 participants and 06 youth elected delegates sensitized on July 1, 2021. These young people were residents of the Douala 1 and Douala 2 municipalities.


In the same context, at the Youth Information Center of Douala 3, young people, women, and persons living with disabilities from the municipalities of Douala 5 and Douala 3 were sensitized under the supervision of the Cameroon Network of Human Rights Organizations (RECODH), Afroleadership’s partner in implementing the project. This third stage reached 35 participants and 06 youth elected delegates, bringing the total to 121 people, including 106 participants and 15 youth delegates.
