Civil society and the Ministry of Finance (MINFI) will enter into dialogue in mid-October 2022, on a date to be confirmed, on the theme: “Public finance reforms and citizens’ well-being in a context of multidimensional crises.”
This is the content of the preparatory work that took place on Friday, September 9, 2022, between the Public Finance Reform Division and civil society organizations led by Christine Andela, Coordinator of the Reference Group on Public Finance, of which AfroLeadership is a member.
This MINFI–CSO dialogue platform will use the CITIZEN LENSES REPORT as its working document, the annual civil society report on the state of public finance management.
The parties also adopted the forum format, its timeline, and its funding mechanism. The sessions were facilitated by Sophie Boumsong, Head of the Public Finance Reform Division.
The work focused on the following points: opening remarks by the Head of the Budget Reform Division; progress update on technical work and presentation of the first draft of the Citizen Lenses Report 2022; identification of participants in the process; review of the CSO–MINFI forum agenda; and adoption of the activity schedule.
