Aicha KARAFI HOSNI has had a career spanning more than 30 years at the Ministry of Finance, where she has held senior positions; indeed, until September 2017, she served as Director-General of the Central Office for Organisation, Methods, Information Technology and Regional Coordination. In this capacity, Aicha Karafi has also led several training courses on budget management, public finance, local finance, entrepreneurship and leadership within prestigious public and private institutions. Ms Karafi is also a consultant, trainer, PEFA evaluator and highly active facilitator, particularly within civil society; she acts as an expert for various organisations. She is currently a technical adviser for the Global Initiative for Fiscal Transparency in Francophone Countries (GIFT) and a short-term consultant on the decentralisation support project funded by GIZ for the Tunisian government. She has led capacity-building programmes for certain municipalities as part of an OECD-funded project. She is president of the NGO ‘ATGL’ and leads the local OGP project as part of the implementation of Commitment No. 11 of the 3rd OGP National Action Plan. She has successfully completed several projects for municipalities in the context of participatory democracy.
